A note from our founder

The KWC exists because it’s what a lot of us needed growing up - a space to heal, reconnect with ourselves and find our place in the world.

A couple of childhood memories make this especially close to home: my Dad leaving two days after my 8th birthday, and four years later unexpectedly watching my Grandad pass away whilst home alone with him. These experiences led to years of relentlessly seeking external validation, trying anything to bury my emotions.

On the outside it looked great:

  • Penthouse flat

  • Top performing sales rep

  • Promotion after promotion

  • Six figure salary at a tech start-up

The reality wasn’t as pretty behind closed doors:

  • Low self-esteem and constant negative self-talk

  • Out of control drinking and disordered eating

  • Crippling anxiety and trips to A&E

  • Sabotaging relationships

Eventually I hit a wall. I tried everything: therapy, journalling, psychedelics, fasting, silent meditation retreats. It all helped, but I was still resisting. In a last-ditch attempt to “fix” myself, I quit my job, ended my relationship and booked a one way flight to go monastery-hopping in Thailand.

After a profound experience meditating one day, I had a breakdownthrough - a deep emotional release, and a collapse of the belief system I’d been imprisoned by for years: that it was all my fault, that the world was out to get me, that I wasn’t worthy of love.

My first (very Zen) thought: What the f*ck was that?! My second: how many others are carrying the same pain around every day? What if I can help somehow?

My new purpose became crystal clear - create a space for others to reconnect with themselves and live more authentically. I booked a flight home two days later and got to work.

This isn’t to say I now have all the answers for you - and that’s OK, because you have the capacity to heal, grow, and make your mark on the world. Being part of The Collective is about reconnecting with that part of you. It’s not about “fixing” you, it’s about realising you were never broken in the first place (and having a laugh on the way).

When you’re ready, we’re here.
